Sales Associate Part Time - Spartan Store

The mission of Greater Atlanta Christian School is to help each student grow as Jesus did, in wisdom, in stature, and in favor with God and man. The seasonal part-time sales associate  is responsible for assisting with all store sales and inventory, Monday-Friday from 1:30PM-4:30PM, when school is in session. This position starts immediately and will conclude on May 16th, 2025. Within the School, the position has primary working relationships with the Director of the Spartan Store and all faculty & staff.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·       Work closely with the Director of the Spartan Store for all managing procedures.

·       Assist with inventory control of entire store.

·       Must be proficiency in understanding unique needs of our community via products and services.

·       In Lightspeed POS system:  Create/generate items' SKU’s; purchase order entry; receiving; enter adjustments; manage customer, vendor, and student records; daily and monthly reports; e-commerce and website store; accounts payable; inventory maintenance; invoice processing; credit card reconciliation; data exporting for reporting; month-end reporting; and account reconciliation.

·       Count & balance drawers daily.

·       Assisting with mailing packages and tracking incoming packages.

·       Sales associate for general sales of goods and services.

·       Provide daily service to families, students and faculty/staff through sales of goods and services offered.

·       Learn the POS system thoroughly for cashiering duties.

·       Work with other associates to maintain an exciting and always fresh look to the different product offerings.

·       Make recommendations to better serve our community.

·       Be available Monday-Friday, 1:30PM-4:30PM, when school is in session.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • High school diploma or GED; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years of relevant work experience

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & CAPABILITIES

 

  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to think on your feet and solve problems independently.
  • Excellent customer service and retail selling skills.
  • Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of POS, web structure, Microsoft Office--especially Excel.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills using English.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks at a time with completion in a timely manner.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Must be able to be stationary for prolonged periods at a desk, sometimes while working on a computer.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other office machinery.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to position self to maintain files in lower and higher drawers in cabinets.
  • Must be able to read written or electronic documents with or without correction.
  • Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.  Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Must be able to traverse between office buildings/facilities on campus.

 

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Successful background check, reference checking, and drug/alcohol screening clearance.
  • Acknowledgment of and agreement with GAC’s Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.
