Assistant Strength Coach/Assistant Football Coach 2024

We are seeking a dynamic, engaging individual that will be an Assistant Coach for the Performance Training Program at GAC.  Specifically, the position:

  • Serves as an assistant strength coach in the GAC Performance Training program with purpose and excellence; High school classes for male and female, off-season speed development and Summer Training Camp.
  • Develops the total student athlete; Fosters physical, emotional, mental, and Spiritual growth;
  • Provides a positive role model and demonstrates personal intergrity and spiritual character;
  • Instructs student athletes in proper training techniques, providing appropriate progressions and regressions for each movement
  • Executes Speed and Agility program; Engages in appropriate injury prevention practices
  • Assists in the planning and delivery of extensive Summer Training program
  • Educates student-athletes and parents on proper Sports Nutrition
  • Regularly and systematically communicates with Head Coaches on player development
  • Assists in maintaining inventory of all training equipment and supplies
  • Utilizes Social Media to recognize and promote student athlete development and accomplishments
  • This position will also serve as an assistant coach for two Varsity sports. Football, Wrestling, and Lacrosse are preferred
  • Maintains required records, forms, other related data;
  • Other duties as required/assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college is required; a master’s degree is preferred;.

  •  

    A current relevant professional certification – CSCS strongly preferred.

  •  

    Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission of Greater Atlanta Christian School.

  •  

    Ability to lead and provide oversight for all levels of the GAC Strength Training Program.

  •  

    A strong working knowledge and teaching skills in anaylysis and techniques of strength training.

  •  

    Candidate must have experience coaching and a good understanding of how to work with Grade 9-12 student-athletes.

  • Good communication skills with players, parents, and the Athletics Director and Athletic Trainer.

  •  

    Energetic, self-motivated, flexible, punctual, dependable, and a team player;

    CPR/AED/First Aid training.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching or stooping.
  • Uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, and distinguishes between shades of color.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to read written or electronic documents written in English with or without correction.
  • Must be able to traverse between office buildings/facilities on campus.
  • The work is typically performed in an office and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather.

  • Successful background check and drug/alcohol clearance.
