We are seeking a dynamic, engaging individual to join our extraordinary team in our GROW Summer Camp this upcoming summer from June 3 through July 26, 2024.  The individual will be responsible for lifeguarding and, specifically will:

• Provide a safe aquatic environment for campers.
• Be responsible for the daily care and mentorship of campers during swim time.
• Enthusiastically participate in all program areas as assigned.
• Communicate and work with GROW Summer Camp staff members.

Requirements:

• Current certification in lifeguard training or equivalent.
• Current certification in swim instruction or related experience.
• Current certification in first aid and CPR.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to convey a dynamic, energetic, patient, and nurturing spirit with passion and skill to actively and positively engage campers/students.
• Flexible, with the ability to work in a highly demanding, stressful environment.
• Bilingual is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work standing/walking throughout assigned shift with some rest periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times and support larger weights in water.
• Must be able to frequently kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, and/or squat to interact with children.
• Must be able to read written or electronic documents with or without correction.
• Must be able to verbally communicate information using English and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Must be able to write using English in a legible form.
• Must be able to traverse between facilities on campus.

• Successful background check, reference checks, and drug screening clearance required.
