Admissions Associate 2024

As an integral part of our admissions team at Greater Atlanta Christian School, we are seeking an Admissions Associate who will be responsible for guiding prospective families through the admissions process while embodying the core values and mission of our Christian educational community.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Follow-up with Prospective Families:  Maintain consistent communication with prospective families, providing information, answering queries, and offering support throughout the admissions journey.
  • Assist in Admissions Office Activities:  Collaborate in organizing and executing various admissions events such as Open Houses, Spartan 2gether Day, New Parent events, ensuring a welcoming and informative experience for attendees.
  • Engage Prospective Families:  Conduct interactions with potential students and their families through various mediums including phone calls, scheduled appointments, group tours, and personalized individual tours, showcasing the distinctive attributes of our institution.
  • Coordinate Student Events:  Facilitate the logistics for student-related activities such as testing, shadowing opportunities, and other engagement events that contribute to the prospective student's understanding of our academic and community environment.
  • SSAT Coordinator:  Serve as the designated SSAT Coordinator for the school, overseeing the scheduling, administration, and proctoring of standardized tests, ensuring compliance with testing standards, and providing necessary support to test-takers and families.
  • General Admissions Office Support:  Assist in diverse administrative tasks within the Admissions Office, maintaining records, managing inquiries, and contributing to the efficient functioning of the department.
  • Collaborate with GAC Parent Ambassadors:  Work closely with GAC parent ambassadors to reinforce the admissions efforts, leveraging their support in outreach activities, events, and prospective family engagement.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Capabilities:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in an admissions, customer service, communications, and/or education-related role(s).
  • Or, an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
  • Familiarity with standardized testing coordination is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to be stationary for prolonged periods at a desk, sometimes while working on a computer.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other office machinery.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to position self to maintain files in lower and higher drawers in cabinets.
  • Must be able to read written or electronic documents with or without correction.
  • Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Must be able to traverse between office buildings/facilities on campus.

Other:

  • Successful background check, reference checks, and drug screening clearance required.
  • Agreement to support GAC's Mission (see below).
  • Acknowledgment of and agreement with GAC’s Statement of Faith and Community Covenant required.
